TRAINING

 

This course will enable delegates to assess and give fast and effective first aid to a casualty in the workplace following illness or injury.

  • To act safely and promptly with emergencies
  • To be familiar and have an understanding of first aid supplies and equipment
  • To gain appreciation of the duties of employers and the legal framework

 

Record keeping and management in dealing with emergencies and the importance of personal hygiene in first aid procedures.

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

  • Duration: 1 day
  • Start time: 8:30am course registration
  • Duration: approximately 7/8 hours
  • Certification: successful candidates will receive a Skyreach certificate of competency

  • Introduction and housekeeping
  • Resuscitation (CPR) and AED
  • Control of bleeding, tourniquet and catastrophic bleeding including haemostatic agents
  • Shock
  • Treatment of the unconscious casualty
  • Communication
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Minor injuries
  • Record Keeping
  • Hazards in the workplace
  • Use of First Aid Equipment End of course evaluation Certificate issued upon successful completion of the course, once all paperwork has been processed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

For all on site training courses a suitable class room and demonstration area is required for the theory and practical sessions.

Duration of the course is dependent on the number of candidates and equipment type and may vary accordingly. For all on-site training, we reserve the right to apply a minimum number of delegates to attend each course.
