SAFETY HARNESS

TRAINING

 

This course covers all aspects of use for safety harnesses, whilst in a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform).

This will show you how to correctly wear the harness and how to attach it based on risk assessment. This course does not cover running lines as this is a separate module.

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

  • Duration: 1/2 day
  • Start time: 8:30am course registration
  • Duration: approximately 4 hours
  • Numbers: maximum of 10 delegates
  • Certification: successful candidates will receive a Skyreach certificate of competency
  • Valid period: each certificate is valid for 5 years

  • Employers and employees legal responsibilities
  • MEWPs and harnesses
  • Hierarchy of measures for hazard avoidance
  • Choice of harness and lanyard
  • Testing of harnesses by manufacturers
  • Pre use checks and correct usage
  • Safe working loads and limitations
  • Rescue situations
  • Record keeping for inspections and dates
  • Practical assessments
  • End of course evaluation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

For all on site training courses a suitable class room and demonstration area is required for the theory and practical sessions.
The client is responsible for supplying equipment in good working, to meet the current regulations and guidelines.
