AT WORK COURSE

 

This course will enable delegates to assess and give fast and effective first aid to a casualty in the workplace following illness or injury and is aimed at those who are appointed as the First Aider within the workplace.

 

  • To act safely and promptly with emergencies
  • To be familiar and have an understanding of first aid supplies and equipment
  • To gain appreciation of the duties of employers and the legal framework
  • Record keeping ands management in dealing with emergencies and the importance of personal hygiene in firt aid procedures

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

  • Duration: 3 days
  • Start time: 8:30am course registration each day
  • Duration: approximately 7/8 hours
  • Certification: successful candidates will receive a Skyreach certificate of competency

• Introduction and housekeeping
• Resuscitation (CPR) and AED
• Breathing Disorder
• Managing an accident
• Transportation of a victim
• Unconscious casualty
• Control of bleeding, tourniquet and catastrophic bleeding incl haemostatic agents
• Shock
• Burns and scalds
• Injury to bones and joints
• Poisoning
• Eye Injuries
• Seizures
• Gas and fumes treatment
• Minor injuries
• Hazards in the workplace
• Use of First Aid Equipment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

For all on site training courses a suitable class room and demonstration area is required for the theory and practical sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

Duration of the course is dependent on the number of candidates and equipment type and may vary accordingly. For all on-site training, we reserve the right to apply a minimum number of delegates to attend each course.
