When a global online action-sports retailer wanted to increase their stock holding capabilities, Skyreach Access came up with the solution.
Skyreach were approached by their storage solutions supplier who were looking at new racking ideas for their existing warehouse, which was proving to be a challenge due to its compact nature.
Floor space was at a premium, so the only way to expand was up. No problem for Skyreach!
After ongoing consultation Skyreach came up with a plan to use the JLG 20MSP stock picker for multiple picks throughout the day.
The 20MSP is a compact, robust, driveable platform with a maximum working height up to 8m. Perfect for manoeuvring in tight areas with a Point & Go proportional steer/drive joystick, offering ultimate precision and control.
Powered by AGM maintenance free batteries and benefiting from direct electric drive it offers class leading efficiency. With zero emissions and near-silent running, it’s fitted with an automatic 5 hour quick battery charger and on-board diagnostics designed to keep the unit running for longer and improve productivity.
With a total load capacity of 160kg, which allows for 115kg platform load and 45kg on a 0.69 x 0.58m material tray, these standard features proved an ideal combination for the job.
As an approved JLG dealer in the UK, Skyreach have extensive knowledge of their industry leading range of stock pickers and were confident it would prove its worth.
So with the first challenge covered, the client then asked Skyreach to specify a unit with a greater load capacity and bigger platform area for one-off stock replenishment duties. The JLG 6RS scissor lift answered the call.
Similar to the 20MSP, this compact 7.8m lift benefits from direct electric drive, maintenance free batteries and a fully proportional joystick control. With a platform of size of 0.69 x 1.82m and 230kg platform capacity this unit proved more than capable.
Ok, with the groundwork done, the only way to really prove Skyreach knew what they were talking about was to get hands on with the kit. It’s great to look through glossy brochures and nice photos but the best way to prove the equipment is to demonstrate it.
So Skyreach took both platforms to the clients premises and, under the clients watchful eye, proved their initial advice was right. Both units performed exactly as expected, the 20MSP perfect for a quick-to-deploy high level stock picker and the 6RS for its greater load capacity.
The day proved to be a great success. So much so that the client placed an order for both units!
As part of Skyreach’s ongoing commitment to offer full support from inception to completion of a project, they provided on-site operator training to ensure each user was both confident in using the equipment and legally covered to use it.
In addition, Skyreach continue to look after the platforms as part of their Annual Service & Examination Agreement, which not only keeps the equipment in good working order but ensures their client is meeting its obligations inline with the current regulations.
Fast forward 4 months and guess what? The client ordered a second JLG 20MSP stock picker to complement the two units previously supplied.
Another round of operator training and the third unit added to the Annual Service & Examination Agreement and everyone’s happy.
